I went to feed Hetfield this morning to find him in the corner, his fur all puffed up and not moving at all. The day befor he was fine.

I thought the worst till I touched him when he twitched. I picked him up to find he was (and still is) so cold. I then put food out (dry food, greens and hay) and he tried to eat but he did't seem to have the energy to eat.

I then hads to go out, but on return went back to him where he'd eaten a little, but some food was still in his mouth and he had moved to the door resting his head against it.

He is now inside on a tiny dog bed as i'm trying to warm him up.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I think a trip to the vet is in order, it could be a number of things. Is he sheltered outside? It could be a tooth problem, it could be something that he needs antibiotics for. If he isn't eating you will need to syringe feed him to keep his system going, the vet will have critical care and syringes so you can feed him.

Hope he will be ok.

Keep him warm, as you have been, and try to get some fluids down him if you can while you're waiting for the vet. It could be any number of things, unfortunately they often show no symptoms until they're quite poorly. Definitely a vet trip needed

Fingers crossed here

Sophie
