Hi I'm going on holiday at the beginning of August and my regular guinea sitter is on holiday at same time. I need someone to lookafter them and give them the hugs and loves I do. None of my family have room or knowledge to care for them, there is a pet shop who would look after them but they want £3 per pig per day and when going away for 10 days it adds up to a lot.
Is there anyone who could care for them or point me in the right direction?
My guinea pigs are females if that helps or not. I have a Nero 4 cage no stand. They are quite tame and will eat from my hand but no one elses in my house.
I would have offered to pet sit for you as I live in South Shields but I'm away the beginning of August as well, sorry.
I don't know any pet shops or boarding places nearby, I'm leaving mine with my bfs sister.
I am ages away according to the OH so sadly cant help!
have you tried looking in your local supermarket/newsagent window, there are usually a couple of ads by teenagers etc that will pet sit or even by resistered locala petsitters etc...theres a girl by us who cant have pets as her and her mum rent a flat and she comes round ours if I'm out for the day with her mum or by herself and just feeds them, gives them some attention and then leaves...
MInd you, could be dodgey for potential thiefs if you dont really know the person unless they are kept in the garage...where are they kept? There are some registered petsitters, search on google you should be able to find someone locally!
I am pretty sure guinea-tia-flossie is a pet sitter as well. Can't you ask one of you family members, as by the time you go on holiday you could have taught them how to look after the guineas? It's only ten days after all. ?

My pigs are indoor pigs would that be a problem they can go outside in the warm weather I have a playpen but it has no lid but I do have plenty towels and I'm going to buy some fleece blankets someone has for sale on the forum.
I've been researching into this to. living in Tyne and Wear theres not many places to keep pets just cats and dogs. There's no one i trust to take proper care of them, clean and feed them there veg every night and y neighbour whos watching the buns is allergic to piggies
I'm still trying to run the idea past my mam that we could pet sit other peoples small pets that they help us out when were on holiday but she's not to keen on the idea
I've noticed that too. I would have preferred to rehome as well but I couldn't find anywhere around here that does that and I checked with the RSPCA but they didn't have any so I ended up buying some. Although now whenever I go to pet shops to get the pigs some new toys and I see the horrible conditions that some of them are kept in I just feel like taking them all home with me
