I picked up my 2 new piggies this evening, and came away with a bonus 3rd one - one of a litter of 6, he's just not grown since he was born. He's 4 weeks old, unbelievably tiny, but healthy and alert.

I want to give him as good a chance as possible, so what could I offer him to eat that might help him grow?

You could try some mashed up pellets in warm water, I've read that that is also good. :)

This, or Oxbow Critical Care, preferably the latter. Offer it to him in a bowl or a teaspoon.

Steer away from oats, they will fill up the little one without offering the nutrients and fibre that he needs to help him grow.

whoops, good to know that, thanks

It's ok, sometimes they work well kickstarting the appetite of an older pig but when you consider a tiny baby pig stomach is smaller than your pinky nail, you want to be getting something that contains a good all round food into it :)

If your little one's a lot smaller than your other two make sure they don't have all the poor thing's food! ;)
