anybody have any ideas for this? i've got this recent spurt of 'spoil the piggles' on at the minute, since they got their new hutch.

they've got new cozies, and their p@h carrot tree, but i'm out of ideas on home-made things. i used to have a cat toy that i put treat nuggets and carrot drops in, but they kind of ate it...

any ideas?

Cardboard loo rolls stuffed tightly with hay are the favourite here! Or a paper bag / tissue box stuffed with hay.

I use little plastic stools for hideys - great because they let the air circulate, so are ok for summer use, and some piggies hop on top of them too.

Drainpipe as tunnels! Or go to your local carpet shop and ask for the inner tube from a carpet roll, which you can then cut up into sections.

thanks :) some good ideas. i need to make them at home, as i've spoilt them so much recently that my piggy budget is a little low :red can't wait till saturday so that i can sit them in their cozies. still a bit worried about the introduction of Alfie, but i'm sure it'll be fine. i can't wait to get the little guy home.

i feel like i did when i was younger and still believed in Santa... just a few more days... :p

My piggies love stuffed toilet rolls- that is a firm favourite.

I did have a long tube for them but they pooed and weeded in it so much and got covered in it I had to throw it out- so i suggest putting a strip of towel in a tube so at least the wee can soak away into something- rather then pooling as piggies may lie in it like mine do mallethead

What i've done now is use some spare C&C cubes bent into a semi circle and put a towel over it- so they have something to run in and out of but their poo and wee goes onto the blanket i put down for run time.

Mine also love stuffed toilet roll middles and cardboard boxes - crisp boxes are a good size to cut holes in and they love popping out of different holes:)

I use plastic drainpipes as they can be washed when necessary if your piggies tend to wee and poo in them - just make sure you check the edges for any sharp bits, a good rub with sand paper makes sure they're safe:)

Oh it wasn't that i minded washing the tunnell out cause i always did that every night- it was that poor pebbles covered herself in wee and poo (Shes long haired) and she would just lie in the her own wee and it wasn't fair to wash her after every night after using the tunnel.

Which is why i have decidedd again fully enclosed tunnels- mainly for pebbles.

thanks everyone :) thank god i have lots of cardboard stuffs rolling around everywhere....
