Homemade Pet-Safe Disinfectant

Does anyone make their own pet-safe disinfectant? In my quest to be more eco-friendly, I'm looking at alternative solutions to buying bottles of it. I've seen some suggestions online, but they usually have cats and dogs in mind and I'm not sure whether the recipes would also be okay for small animals... Any advice? :) Thank you!

I use vinegar sometimes and then F10 to ensure we're killing anything that vinegar can't. I buy the F10 as concentrate, so use very little plastic that way.
 
I’m the same - vinegar and water and then a F10 deep clean once a month (I also buy it as a concentrate and dilute into spray bottles myself).
 
Yes same here, vinegar weekly on the pee stains and hay trays then F10 occasionally for a proper disinfect! I think vinegar is very effective for general cleaning and will kill most bacteria too, I only reach for the F10 usually if a piggy has been poorly or every couple of months when I do the dismantle-the-cage-hoover-behind level of cleaning...
 
I use white vinegar and a little water to wipe around the base of the cage too. White vinegar in the washer is great for their fleeces/tunnels too, it keeps everything soft and stops the build up of calcium deposits from pee 😁
 
I do. I add a small drop of washing up liquid as well.
 
I dilute it about 50/50 for wiping the main cage base but the hay trays I just put in my bath and pour in the vinegar neat and let them soak for an hour :) we use some sort of cheap white vinegar for pickling that you can buy in bulk from Amazon, basically the cheapest that comes in 5 litre bottles!
 
I mix vinegar and water, about 50/50 in a spray bottle for the cages. I use F10 about once a month for a deep clean. I buy white distilled vinegar in B&M. I used to put vinegar in the last rinse in the machine but have stopped doing it as the machine repair man said it's not good for the machine. I now use Dettol laundry cleanser, big bottle in B&M £5, it's about half the price of super markets. ALDI do an own brand of laundry cleanser that worked out cheaper but it was very perfumed so not suitable for piggies.
