It will not have any added vitamin C( absolutely Vital for guinea pigs) plus other things included especially in guinea pig nuggets. So, personally, I would not feed them.:)

I wasn't thinking of using it as a feed replacement, but to feed along side hay. Hay doesn't have vitamin c either, so there is no difference.
Turned into a mash, you could add vitamin c if need be, so it's still possible.

It is probably ok as a treat for young piggies provided that grass and alfalfa are really the only ingredients, the calcium content is likely to be quite high so probably not the best food for adults. You would probably be better off finding some Timothy grass pellets that dont contain any other ingredients if you are after something to give your piggies as an additional source of fibre.

It's just as a encouragement to help a guinea pig progress back to eating properly. She's 5 this year, and right now, just getting her to eat everything she should be eating is a priority.
Strawberries is now on her list of likes.
She more or less attacked the other piggies for the lettuce I put in before. As of today she's back on the nuggets, she went off them for a few days. She's also gained weight over the last 24 hours, i'm hoping it's not just a rebound, and she'll revert again like last time.
Her bladder is fine, so are her water works, it's just getting slightly higher calories in, to help her gain weight, she's still under veterinary care, and by no means i'm I letting her slip again. I have now got spring greens in, going to start adding that rather than lettuce.

Alfalfa is high in calories and would probably be ok to feed short term to help your piggy gain weight as long as she doesn't have or show signs of developing stones. Other foods that are high in calories that you could try are corn on the cob, carrots ( don't feed to often as it is high in vitamin A) broccoli and cabbage ( don't feed to much as it can cause bloat). cauliflower is also reasonably high source.
Hope your piggy returns to her usual weight soon and starts eating properly. :)
