Hi all, I am relatively new to the forum and hope theres some wise piggy lovers out there to give me some advice on how best i can introduce my two pairs of sows.

Matilda and Shelby 10 months old now and very close, and Dorothy and Sophie are babies at 7weeks old.

Their cages are next to each other and they do squeak and wheek at each other close by but as yet I havent introduced them 'face to face'

Am i best to wait until the babies are a bit bigger to introduce them?

thanks for looking!

tbh if you females are friendly..id just let them go in the cage together..when i get a newbie i put them straight in, and theres no fighting but i know my girls wont harm them..they mother them lol

well i htink i can offer some advice

my holly and meggie are 17months old and live togther

lilly is 7 months old and her 3 baby girls are 10 week old and all four live togther

now holly and meggie havent been near any other piggies sence i got them when there was 6 and 7 weeks old

so anyways i brought a big run to put all six girls in and another one for boys

so last thruday it was really nice so we put them out for the first time we first put holly and meggie and went back to get lilly and the babies and put them in and have been fine no fighing no problems the babies lvoe holly and meggie and the babies wll got siit next to them and go to sleep and holly and meggie are fine about it

i would jsut put them togther and sit and watch them as I'm sure there will be fine

its my boys I'm having porblems with geting along

thanks for your advice will try in a few week just to check the new babies r ok and healthy! will let u all know how i get on x

Piggies are very gentle creatures, when I introduced our new babies at about 9 weeks (Bella and Truffle) to Molly (2) and Smudge (who at the time was about 12 weeks) we got them all out and held them on our laps and let them have a good sniff at each other and they all just snuggled up in no time, then we just popped them in together and they live so contentedly, never a fight at all. good luck with your babies. (ps might be good to feed first before you put them together?)
