Hi

My 2 and a half year old, called Piglet, has some sludge in his urine. Having just lost his cage mate Snowball to bladder stones, my vet recommended the above.

I've bought them (they're not cheap but I'm willing to try anything that helps!) but he's not eating them. He's quite 'stuck in his ways' (bit like his owner!) and will generally never try new stuff...

Any tips please?!
Thanks

If they are anything like the joint care ones from.oxbow, they do powder up nicely, but need mixing with critical care, they dont blend well with water

They are like round flat nuggets.... there is one in this pic .

I guess I could, although it'd be less stress for him if he ate them himself (he's not too keen on handling, he was about 5-6 months old when I got him)
Thanks :)

Ahhhhh ok.... could try that.
Do yours eat the joint care ones?

My Primrose has been on Cystophan for the last month, and I really didn't want to have to try to syringe feed it mixed with water to her. So I've been coating the powder on wet mint and basil leaves, as the smell/taste of those just about overrides the Cystophan, and feeding them to her for breakfast. Apart from a few awkward mornings where it's taken a bit longer to convince her I'm not trying to poison her, she's had all her meds. Admittedly that tablet looks like it would break down into rather a lot of powder, but it may be worth a try?

Syringe feeding it powdered and mixed with water and if necessary mixed with some of her usual pellets as well to cover the taste is the best way. You may need to cut off the syringe tip as shown in our syringe feeding guide to allow fibre to come through.
