How can I tempt him to eat?

Yes that’s what I’ve been using to syringe him so far, the 1ml with top cut off. Just tried syringing again but he didn’t want it. How frequently should I be feeding him?

It’s more about quantity over a 24 hour period to maintain weight . If he is only taking a little a time, then he needs feeding more often to keep the overall quantity up

Yesterday he was eating around 20mls every few hours. Today he’s just refusing :(

I’m sorry ☹️ Try the pellets as suggested above, with banana or something added in to make it more appealing.

He’s had about 15-20ml just now, though it’s difficult to judge as a lot of it was dribbling out. I also managed to get a video of the extent of the tooth grinding. I’m just praying I can keep him going til the 24th when we see Simon

This dribbling is out of control. Each time I get him out of his bed he is dripping. All his chest and nose are wet through. When I’m syringe feeding him most of it is dribbling out. Yet the vets won’t help :(

How can the vets say there’s nothing dentally wrong when he’s drooling like this? He’s constantly wet through! Even his nose and face and constantly covered in saliva

I'm really sorry you're both going through this. Your local vets don't sound very experienced with piggies. When one of my past piggies couldn't eat, I had to wait a week to see Simon and it was very hard with the syringe feeding etc. Keep doing what you're doing, I know it's horrible to see them in discomfort xx

Thank you. I’ve been to two exotic vets who say they are specialists. I’m worried about not being able to get to Simon for another week while little Odin is in this state. Especially the constant heavy drooling xx

It shows his teeth must be bad, bless him. Keep syringe feeding. Will he eat any herbs? xx

No. Most he will attempt to eat is watermelon. But he refuses everything else. Every now and again he attempts some kale. He only had a dental done 10 days ago :( xx

Odin is now struggling to eat syringed critical care too :( he just messes with his mouth and drools a lot. It’s a battle to get him to eat.
Simon is still away another week. He won’t last a week like this. What do I do?

How is he now? Have you managed to get anymore food in? xx
We are still on the journey home. The only thing he has eaten again is watermelon :( I’ve tried other stuff but he’s still saying no. If I put it in his mouth he spits it out :(

I'm glad he has eaten something even if it is only watermelon. It shows that he hasn't given up. Keep on trying, I know it's so hard xx
