My two adult guinea pigs (2yrs) have recently gained two new younger pals (3mths). One of the babies, Aphrodite, has tooth problems (which are being dealt with) and so is a slow eater. I don't want to overfeed pellets to the adults but equally I don't want to leave the babies short. Other than the tooth problems the babies are both very healthy and Aphrodite has made astonishing progress since seeing the vet nine days ago and is now a healthy weight.

They always have stacks of hay (hubbie is a farmer so we use hay as bedding and they get fresh hay every day), I also pick fresh grass for them every day which they have in addition to their cup of veggies each, but do I limit the pellets to protect the adults or provide the pellets free-flow until the babies are a bit older?

I really should have thought of this before the babies arrived but I've not had young piggies before so this is a first for me!

I've always limited the pellets when I've had mixed ages, as long as the babies have plenty of hay and good fresh veggies there shouldn't be a problem. I weigh weekly to make sure they are gaining weight as they should.
Congratulations on your new additions.

Excellent, thank you, I'll do the same.
