hi how do i stop a guinea pig chewing on the bars of his cage when he wants something but cant have.

he is waiting to get his neturing operation and wants to play with my girl indoor pig that is the biggest problem and i dont have another room to put him in. and he goes quite and slighly off his food if you do that for too long.

I dont think you can really stop him chewing but try giving him toys to play with and wooden gnaws or cardboard tubes. To take his mind of the female.

try moving the cages apart even if it means changing all the furniture around, two of my nine piggies chews the ars and it is them wanting their chins stroked, I have attention seeking piggies. Try stroking his chin or his nose if you have not tried that.

done both those things but thanks for the thoughts

earliest i can get him done is 4 months he is 12 weeks this fri so does that mean i only have to wait another 4 weeks?

I had this problem too, I put a big piece of correx up in the end ::)

Sparky is a terrible bar chewer and to be honest I don't think that there is anything I could do to stop him I think its his way of nagging for something particularly when its feeding time or wants some attention.

oh my max bits his wire at feeding time.

my aflie bits it when he is in his run as he can see his 4 little borthers. in the other run
