how do you tell if a guinea pigs unhappy? i only ask coz one of mine just sits in the hay house all day he comes out for food, water etc and popcorns now and again and gets allexcited when the fridge is open when i get salad and he squeaks like mad too but it bothers me he just sits there basically till i open the fridge ?
They are lazy at times I've one that just sits there all day Eccles is so laid back though. If they are popcorning then I would say they are happy. Eccles does popcorn but after breakfast and tea he just lounges around!
If they were depressed they wouldn't eat and just look really fed up.

The fact that you're piggie is happy to popcorn and wheek when he hears food coming it sounds like he's fine :smitten:
i think with GPs as long as they eat they are happy! the fact that he popcorns is a happy thing right?
my two are lazy piggies, they'll sometimes come out get food, play with the ball in their cage and then sleep...but they jump around and talk to me so i assume its all good here.
One of mine just lies about all day long - even when their cage is open so that they can have a run about, she's not interested she still just wants to lie there. Mine don't really make too much noise either other than when they hear the fridge opening/a bag rustling or me chopping anything. They appear to be really happy though.
