Hi there! I just adopted a little piggy and I wanna know if there are some tips on how to train him to go to the bathroom in the box instead of all over the place :) thanks!

Generally, it is very hard to train guinea pigs, if not impossible. Guinea pigs naturally pee and poo where they feel most comfortable and where their food is, so if you put their hay in a litter box/tray, then their mess will be at least mostly in that place. You can also try and move any of their poos into the place you want them to go, as I've heard that encourages them to go in that place.
Also, do just have one piggy or multiple? Guinea pigs are very social animals and require living with at least one other guinea pig in order for them to be happy and healthy. If you only have one, I would really recommend adopting another piggy from a local rescue or shelter 🙂

As above, they cannot be litter trained. They do pee and poop where they eat so you can incidentally catch it by putting their hay in a tray but given they also pee and poop in their sleep so won't wake up to go and do it in a particular spot, training them isnt possible.. Daily poop picking is essential with piggies.

I'd understood that they like to have cover while they poo, and they like corners. Almost by accident, my indoor cage has ended up with a small tray in a corner with a cloth cover over that corner of the cage (an old hand towel pegged over) and that's actually worked and become the toilet, mostly. They do the majority of their business there (not all of course!) so it does help with the cleaning.
The tray is lined with either a puppy pad or newspaper and then there's a pile of hay on top. It's funny watching them jump in, then kind of reverse their bum into the corner and wiggle a tiny bit, you know exactly what they're doing!

But yeah it's not the only place they go, it catches maybe 50 percent, with the rest spread evenly around.

Moe and Larry are hard to train, they do their business pretty much in the same spots.
