WELL,
Ive always wanted a female piggy (not to breed) but to complete my little piggy family (only having male piggies past and present).
My first pair were bert and ernie. Bert sadly passed a few years ago now
. And i then successfully introduced sid and pickle to ernie. He took them on with no trouble at all
and this is where i thought my piggy family would end. With me being at uni 24/7 , and having a rented house which doesnt allow pets. It really sucks when ive got three beautiful little boys at home. Soooo....
I was at work today (down the kennels , I'm fond of dogs too ! ) when i was asked if i wanted a guinea pig, that the dog warden was going to pick up. My eyes lighted up, but sadly i remembered that the guinea pigs were mostly looked after by my mum now, so i told them id get in touch with her.
First she said where will you put it ! ( it only used as she did not know her sex at the time). I said she could use the hutch which has been vacant ever since we go it, except for the odd sunny day. But i knew i could sneak her inside
. So she agreed in the end after gentle persuasion, and with the deal that my little sister could name her.
So, the dog warden brought her in and i fell in love, a chubby 9 month old, well looked after lemon agouti
(her nails did need a bit of a clip tho). Later on in the day her previous owner rang up, and asked who and where she will be homed to. She was delighted to find out that a member of staff had her and so she asked to speak to me.
Her reasons for getting rid of her were common, she had a pair of young females who were fighting to the extent where she worried about their welfare. The vet suggested to have them both spayed but at 100 pound she could not afford it , so had to go for the other option. She told me her name was annie, and was the bossiest of the two , and that she liked cabbage, was very loving and a bit chubby. I assured her that i would make sure she had a good home, as i was an experienced owner and by now so was my mum
I took her home, my mum was surprised at her size, and as soon as it was mentioned that she would have to be an outdoor pig my stepdad chirped up. He was having none of it , and ordered my mum to go and get an indoor cage. (YES
) My little sister came into the room, and her eyes widened WHATS THAT ?! she shouted (shes only 6
) even tho she had seen many guinea pigs before, this one must be very unique ! i told her it was her piggy, she was delighted , but wasnt fond of the name so changed it to georgia. I told her she must care for her and love her, because the lady before spoiled them. She agreed.
So georgia the guinea pig now lives in my little sisters room , in a very large cage for one piggy, and is very much loved
I hope me and my family can look after her better than her previous owner could have
