I'm after mice, rats and guinea pigs, any age/colour etc to put together a breeding colony of each. Any animals taken will not be used for any purpose other than for breeding and will be cared for to the highest degree as do all my animals. I'm happy to take in unwanted animals whether pets or un-homed babies, tame or not. No questions asked. Thanks

How irresponsible is this? what sort of breeder would want to breed from animals they do not know the history of? Crazy and makes me sick aren't there enough animals in need of homes without introducing more!:)>>>

sadly it sounds as if it is for breeder for food, I know snakes have to eat but surly if you really cared for your retiles you woulnt want just any small animal for breeding from, imagine the risk of carring somthing that could possibly pass onto the snake(no idea what can be passed onto snakes though just a guess)

Does sound like they might possibly be bred for reptile enjoyment. With an open ended request like that, the ad will get some desperate people bringing their pets to this guy/girl, happy to see the end of them. Not everyone knows you can drop unwanted pets into a rescue any time and almost anywhere. Most unfortunately, some owners don't give a rats (sorry, no pun intended) what happens to them once they're out of sight. What gets me most is the 'no questions asked' bit, that immediately sets off alarm bells in my head.

OMG That's really disturbing.

I assume those girls in the photo are his kids. That must be nice for them to be around. And very responsible of him to invite untame animals into the house, I don't think!

Are there any rescues in that area who can post an ad to perhaps counteract the snake man's ad, by offering an alternative? I know they're all busting at the seams but perhaps even going on a waiting list may deter some desperate owners from taking their animals to him. Ugh..I really hope he's not doing what we think he is. :(

I saw this as well yesterday just mooching through the ads on P'loved (and in the process agreeing to take on 2 rats FTGH having sworn that I wouldn't have any more rats 'til my current bunch had all gone the way of the bridge, but the FTGH ads always scare the pants of me and this one was with cage and everything so anyone could have leapt in without knowing a bean about what they were taking on.... grrrr)
The only thing that suggests itself would be an ad runnng parallel in the animal ads section advising people to be aware of what passing on animals of breeding age to people with 'different' intentions might result in... But would the kind of person prepared to hand their pet to someone like this even care what they'd be letting their 'pet' in for..:(
