Pikachou has been neutered after finding we have a girl and boy then baby girl , had him neutered a week ago and he’s really not happy hand feeding him and he looks so sad 😞 how long before he can go back to his girls ?

I think I see another thread of you talking about him, is he recovering OK? He may need some painkiller from the vets if not. Does it look healthy where the op was done? Is his weight staying the same, not dropping?

Yes, definitely 6 weeks. He can be in a cage next door, providing that he can't get into the other cage (and the others especially the baby can't get into his). That would cheer him up a bit and will also make the rebonding after 6 weeks easier.
(Has the baby been sexed for definite now? If it were a boy he would need to be separated from his mum now he's 3 weeks old.)

I agree. He isn’t safe to be back in with them until he is six weeks post op. Definitely make sure his cage is next to the girls so he can get some interaction. ensure that the cage is lidded and secure as a determined boar can climb bars.

Since the little baby in my avatar picture on the left is the legacy of a supposedly safe over 5 weeks post boar (not one of mine), 6 weeks it is - this also follows best UK welfare and rescue practice (including the RSPCA).

Please ask any questions in our specially monitored Care sections so you are more likely to get a knowledgeable answer quickly.

I am very sorry. Please keep an eye on him and step in with syringe feeding top up ASAP.
You can use mushed up pellets in a pinch, but you need to feed round the clock, little but often; including throughout the night. Ribena won't do anything for him.

You may find this guide here helpful in the coming days as you have to deal with inevitable feelings of failure and guilt that any responsible and loving owner experiences but that are naturally much stronger in cases like yours.

Please keep in mind that you have made your choices to give Pikachou a chance at the happiest of boar lives and that the outcome was sadly beyond your control. You have done all you could do to save his life, and have NOT failed him.

So very sorry that you lost Pikachou.
Sadly there is always a risk with any surgery but it’s always hard to lose a beloved piggy.
You did everything possible for him so be gentle with yourself now.
