Seriously 3 months ago I was standing firm to the nagging from my husband and kids about NO guinea pigs!

Here we are 3 months later with 6 of them, a massive C&C that dominates our family room already and is about to get bigger when we put the babies in and me running around looking after them day and night.

P@H has become like my local as they have so many good types of hay, housing, treats and everything else under the sun. I have 3 books *all read and completed) and post on here almost all the time.

How does this happen? Anyone have an explanation? ?/:(|) Is it witchery?

I found that too - started off with one & she had an unexpected litter of 4 (she came to us pregnant), then adopted another, then another & I'm waiting for another - it's an addiction!! :))

my bf's daughter has had guineas (though i've never been over to see them...she lives w mom) I've never had one...just had mice when i was a young girl....something just hit me 2 weeks ago...we were looking at a Chinchilla in the pet store and i saw Abby and fell in love. We went back 2 hours later and picked her up! 3 days later, she was picking out Molly and now i have 2 gorgeous girls So my answer is a week! lol

Not very long.. We took Misty to the vets a few days after having him and the vet said we should get him a friend or have him neutered if we were going to get a sow.. Mum said no but as you can probaly guess she gave in and we got another 6 :(|) I've got 2 spare photoframes from framing pictures of all my pets so mum's been told it's either 2 more poodles or 2 more piggies. Think I know what one she's going to chose ;)

took me days to become an addict

have had piggies as a child and now i have them on the pretence they are for my daughter

YEAH - RIGHT!

love them to bits

it doesnt take long. when i was a teenager my brothers asked for a guineapig and they got one. after about a month they lost interest and wanted to give it away so i said i would look after it. of course i couldnt have it lonely so i got another for company. i then woke up one night to strange noises, only to discover it had been pregnant when id got it and it was giving birth to two beauties. and ive been guineapig mad ever since. rolleyes

I was hooked the day Collin turned out to be Mirtle. And Burt became Gertie.

It's so refreshing coming on here and finding a whole load of hypnotised people who are slave to the guinea. makes me feel more 'normal' you know!

So thank you

Hooked me? Never! :(|)

I've gone from 1 to 21 in 2 years! It's my hobby I enjoy it! Couldn't have the amount I have if I worked as I also have children but I think Guineas will always be a part of our lives now! :)

No-one knows how they do it, I think it's like a jedi mind trick!

x

Love it!

we were hooked within days. We started off with two from our local rescue, thought we could stretch to four, ended up with 12 at one point, although some were fosters) - we now have 8, all our own boys :) Life would be so much easier if we had girls as well - they could all free range in a massive C&C pen, but no, being all boys...well we know what they are like! :)) And I love them to pieces for it too ;)

I got one in december and that was all I was getting (at time didn't know about needing two). Anyway I then HAD to get him a friend in Jan/Feb. They then fell out (which is not really a bad thing as then I just HAD to get two more :)) ) So from one to four within 8 months. They are so lovely and sweet and funny I couldn't imagine life without them x)

Originally the kids wanted a guinea pigs each.
When I saw them all soooooo cute, squeaky and looking at you curiously (What you got to eat, mate?) we ended up with four; one for each member of the family.......and it went from there....@)
One was pregnant .... and I guess you know the rest.

PIGGY SLAVERY has taken over my life...they've got me under their spell....no escape....help? (no, thanks, love it!):))x)

Pets are great especially when they are some one elses!
We have a rescue dog and ive been saying for ages once he goes i wouldnt have another, I do love animals but they are such a bind.
But some how in the past 4 months i now seem to have 2 piggies and a rabbit, all my own doing, I'm not sure how it happened it just seemed like a brilliant idea at the time, and i wouldnt do without them.
My mother inlaw says its because i am broody but wont have any more children lol.
I think i have lost the plot and just gone rabbit and piggie mad.
As soon as i saw my piggies i was hooked, but how could you not? they are beautiful little creatures

I was born hooked, but was never allowed piggies, so had to wait until I was 26 and in the position that I knew I would NEVER move back in with my parents so I'd never have to have them rehomed. I got two sows, then another two sows and then a boar! I love them all and can't wait until I can get more! x

I forgot to say, I got my first two in the march last year, and peaked at five by november! but I'm sure I'll get more animals soon!
