How many piggies?

I was just wondering what the average number of piggies most people on here have? What's the most? Eventually I want to have probably 6 guinea pigs but my boyfriend thinks I'm NUTS! and that I should only have 2. I don't think he understands.
 
we have 6 boars in 3 pairs the looking after costs arent as bad as you think 6 pigs but not six times the costs :)
 
I have 6, I love and adore them. I would however prefer to have 2 - as I may have less illness and get to spend more time with them but I wouldn't swap any of the one's I have just don't think I will replace them.

That's in Vet fee's since January and I'm sure that's not them all. rolleyes
 
I have 6. All girls, in two groups of three. I would like more, 2 more to make 8 when I get my shed this summer if my OH lets me. Just need to find a couple with a good sob story. Perhaps then foster if I have the room and the time.
 
9 - I'll be looking to adopt a few more yet; unless Joanne (milhaven) bans me from adopting more piggies! :(|)

I'm quite lucky in that my piggies haven't cost me a great deal. I've always had a larger number of pigs (highest was 11) but vets bills thankfully have stayed rather low! Only vets bills this year have been two visits to the vets for Munchie's abscesses - £45.

I have 6 piggies. I have a group of 4 living together (3girls and a neutered boy) and two boys. I would love more but simply do not have the space.
 
I have six :)
A neutered boar (Frazzle) and his wife (Annie)
Two boars (Terry & George)
And two sows (Doris and Tilly)
 
i have 8 in 2 groups of 4 (one neutered boar and 3 sows)
 
I have 9, 5 girls and 4 boys:))

I am lucky touch wood that they haven't needed the vets as yet:)
 
I have two sets of 2 girls, hopefully to be bonded into a group once quarantine is over. I would LOVE to have lots of Piggys :) xx

I let slip to the boyfriend that I was getting another piggy - biiiig mistake lol I don't let it stop me though - the boyfriend goes on about how expensive they are etc. etc. etc. - I think he choses to selectively ignore the fact that I get my food and vet treatment at cost price, the four piggies I have currently have cost me a grand total of £10 to actually buy them, I don't go out drinking etc. like he does - my animals are my one vice - and their monthly upkeep cost is much less than the price of a night out!

So I chose to ignore him and get Jeffy a wife - if I hadn't have told him, he'd never have noticed rolleyes

Edit: to answer the original question, I have 4, soon to be 5 :)
 
I have a Tribe of 11 (one neutered boar and ten girls), plus a new girl which I am currently trying to introduce.

However, I have worked slowly up to that number over the course of two years, always making sure that I could cope with more piggies and that the group was OK and stable. I have no children and work from home, so the pigs are my company.
 
I have just 2, Bryan & Heidi.

but also a giant house rabbit, 2 russian hamsters and a syrian hamster. The rabbit has his own room, and the syrian is about to move house into an adapted chinchilla (massive) cage.

Apparently, we're full to capacity!
 
I have 26 piggies at the moment,but as you can imagine with so many all of different ages the numbers do go up and down a bit mainly due to old piggies leaving for the raindow bridge,and new ones appearing from various unexpected places,even had a baby boar left in a box at the garden gate. Needless to say he now lives here after his little operation and has settled in well with the herd.
 
I have 9 piggies now, 6 sows, 3 boars. The boars are all bonded together and live as a trio, and the sows are bonded into 3 pairs :)
 
I have 5 girls at the moment, they all enjoy floor space together but are separated at bedtime. My husband brought me the last one because apparently I seemed a little bit down and needed cheering up :)) . Might try that again to increase the numbers. I do find it's not the upkeep thats expensive its the vets bills. This year so far I think I've spent about £500.
 
I have 15: 3 sows and 12 boars. I have 8 cages to accommodate them, because with the majority being boars they mainly live in pairs.
 
I have 14 in total...ish...!

A herd of 6 (5 sows and a neutered boar)
Two pairs of a sow and neutered boar
A trio of two sows and a neutered boar

And Snickers, who is currently living at Auntie Pebble's, and may be coming home but we're not quite sure as yet!
 
Ive seen people who have 60 piggies, some 30 piggies.

I had 1 boy (who passed away) and 2 girls

I believe quality rather than quantity. It is lovely having loads but you have to put in a lot of time to love all piggies and keep healthy and clean. Also vet fees if things go wrong.

I would rather have 2-4 piggies then I can give them all my attention and love without it becoming overwhelming.

How many pigs to have depends how much time you have for them and how dedicated you are.
 
I have two 1 boar 1 sow as due to school and other pets that's all I can really dedicate enough effort and time to properly care for can't wait to foster when I'm old enough and also for my six weeks summer hols when I will have plenty of time :)

We have 2 lovely ladies :) I would love more, but DP was NOT happy about the girls 8...
 
I now have 6 boys, which is my absolute limit.
My 'gang' is now complete :))
 
Ive got 7 at the moment. 5 girls in a herd, a neutered boar (just neutered) and will go in with them in 6 weeks. And a lone geratric boar.
