I own two young Guinea Pigs and apparently when they are young they should be fed Alfalfa Hay but I'm also hearing it's too high in calcium and can cause bladder stones. How much should I give my Guinea Pigs without it becoming a health risk.

(Their main hay is Timothy Hay)

Adults must have limited alfalfa, it's like with human children - they need more calcium for bone development.
Most people do 50/50 timothy to alfalfa hay but i just put a handful of alfalfa (chaff - it's only chopped up hay) in their hay rack when it gets a little low and then top it off with more timothy.

I'll probably just give them a handful as sometimes I see white streaks in their urine and I think that's from too much calcium, also alfalfa costs so much so I will spending a fortune if I give it to them 50/50 everyday!

That's why i got the chaff - you can get 20kg for around £10-£15.
As long as they have access to it a few times a week and they also don't need it as i know a lot of people who just feed babies what their parents get :)
