We give the quartet barley water as Ambam suffers with sludgy urine sometimes. Daisy and Dusty are both addicted to it and the chooks get to eat the pearl barley so they benefit too. How much is too much as they can get through a 500ml bottle in 24 hours? Is it best just to give them it once a week or can they have it daily?

With bladder piggies the rule is as much as they will take in one go several time a day; if they are not bladder piggies, I would limit the amount.

Dusty had some tenderness on his stomach a couple of months ago and Daisy has dodgy teeth so we tend to make some up if she has to travel anywhere as most times she won't eat after filing but she will drink barley water. I think I'll limit it to twice a week but I'll have to make enough for the rest of the pigs to get a look in.

Make it up whenever Daisy needs it - anything that goes in when your mouth hurts and is uncomfy is fine!

I had some on the hob at 6:45 this morning ready for Daisy going to see our new vet. She drank some to prove her teeth were still all present & accounted for before settling down for a snooze (it has been a long day for her).
