hi was just wondering what other guinea pig owners vets charge to see there guinea pig or exotic consultation as they call it mine charged fifteen pounds and fifteen pence today

It cost me £24 last week for the vet to see Truffle, give him an injection & a corse of anti biotics x

well I'm not sure that my vets know what to charge.

Week 1 - 2 pigs, initial consult, 1 jabbed with Ivomec. £16.50
Week 2 - 2 pigs, 2 jabbed with Ivomec £10.20
Week 3 - 2 pigs, 1 jabbed with Ivomec £4.30
Week 4 - 2 pigs, 1 jab Ivomec, the other one sent home with Baytril £14.80

Woody and Spike saw the same vet each time, and I have no clue about their charging structures.

Consultation for my piggy called Sparrow today was £14.89 plus VAT. Added to that was Baytril and eye ointment, oh not forgetting to add the price of the syringe at 24p plus VAT. Total was £27.64. Alot of money!

I paid £5.07 for the vet to give two piggies a look over (first consultation, just to make sure I wasn't missing anything!)

Although when I registered, I asked what the charge would be and I was told £10.17 - So I asked if this was per pig and she said "Hmmm well yes, but they'll probably only charge you once". Didn't complain though as I was expecting to pay over £20 and was only charged £5.07 (I even called them to make sure I hadn't walked out without paying all of what I owed!). They didn't have any injections or anything though, it was literally just a look over.

I just paid £60 for Mabelle to be castrated. It was something like £48 ish for the op, £2 ish for the anesthetic and £2.50 ish for the meds they gave me, plus VAT.

They usually put them in with Rabbits or Cats charge in mine. Cats are £17 but the nurse says she'll charge me £13 because they're smaller.

I pay £14.85 for exotic consultation + any meds.

usually, if I bring 2 but only 1 has a ****, they'll charge me for one (they don't charge to tell me he's healthy).

I also get a free post-op visit, when needed.

When I actually used the vets, I was charged £15 or so just for the consultation.

One reason I am *extremely* relieved to be living by the CCT, who - although not vets - don't charge consult fees to members!
