I've been giving the piggies quite a bit veg but I'm concerned if you can give too much? ?/?/?/

The girlies and Merlin in the bottom cage will happily munch on anything put in front of them and then still go for the hay but Dynamite and Echo in the top cage have hardly touched their hay. Is it just because they're unsure of their new environment (saying that Dynamite was popcorning all over this morning after cleaning their cage) or is it because they're filling themselves up with veggies?

I've been giving them carrot, cucumber, cherry toms, broccoli and parsley but I'm a bit concerned now after reading that carrots are high in vit A so I feel like I should feed them in moderation.

Can anyone advise? Being a piggie newcomer (this is my 2nd day of being a piggie slave) I want to try and establish a good feeding routine asap. :{

Well I think I remember reading on here you should feed a pig 50g of fresh food per day. Though I admit I don't really weigh ours out and just do an amount I think is about right ( I have weighed it occassionally and it's normally a little over ). But you will find they will pretty much eat as much as you give them and will demand food all the time! When my parents watched them for us whilst we were on holiday when we got back they were huge! We told them how much to feed them but she said but they kept squeeking so I thought they must still be hungry so kept feeding them rolleyes.

There's also a good list of food on here that I think Laura put together on what foods will give them a balanced diet which I have referred to a few times.
