It all depends on how long they grow. I have some that never grow and they are quite baby like!

I would keep an eye on them weekly and if you think they need trimming then do so. I usually trim the ends on those that have fast growing nails once a month. :)

As for baths I do 6 monthly for short haired pigs and 3 monthly for long haired but it all depends, if they are dirty and smelly they get a dunking! :D

It all depends on hair length,Bandit needs a wash every month or 2 he has fairly long hair but Smokey only needs one every 3-4,i usually notice when they are starting to look a little mucky rather than actually set dates to do it,all my piggies go to the vet to have theres done so i usually go every 2-3 weeks,some piggies nails grow longer quicker or sometimes slower my advice is just to trim there nails reguarly before they get overgrown x
hehe just read your post louise,i must have some grubby piggies lol:red

Haha mine are fairly clean especially the girls but I have Jasper and Twinkle who get into bother with their grease gland! rolleyes So need bathing more often!

I read somewhere on here that a spot of washing up liquid will clean a piggys grease/scent gland up without any trouble?:{

is this ok?/

I have piggy shampoo but it doesn't seem to even touch it .. and my Short haired boy is white at the back end so its looks really gunked up :(

Yep you can use the ol' fairy liquid or so I've read. I never do though just give them a quick wash over. :)

I have used washing up liquid for a boars grease gland, just a drop and massaged in with a few drops of water, it lifts the grease off very well.

I bath my lot every 2 months, regardless of whether they are long or short haired (the long hairs get haircuts every month, it is rare they get a wet bum!). I clip nails every 3 weeks.
