I've been handling mine once a day after they've had their run time. They'll have been out for about an hour then I handle them for a good 15-30 minutes depending on who's with me at the time and how comfortable they are.

Yesterday I lay down with Hamish on my lap and he was very content just sitting watching me and what was going on around us.

Makes me feel so snuggly :<>
 
I let mine out everyday as they are indoor piggy's, I set up a floor area for them to explore. I hide veg around and fill paper brown bags with hay. I also bring in grass and dandelions for them. I have a tunnel and a tent out during floor time. I also handle them every day and pick them up for cuddles etc. Joey is still shy so I try to coax him veg etc. Everytime I put there veg in there cage in the mornings they have a cuddle and stroke from me too.

I have only had mine for a few weeks so I am gradually working up, at the moment, Hoggle can do at least 10 mins and Ludo is not long at all, I just hold them on my chest and talk to them.

They don't like their play pen as yet so I am not trying that again! :...
 
I'm sure with time they will get used to it. My Joey (white ginger) who Ive had for a year is still shy but loves cuddles. It funny when Gizmo comes for cuddles he likes to jump up onto my shoulder and insist on putting his bum in my face! How lovely.
 
ahh cute pic ! I'm hoping to get some kind of floor space once my old sofa has gone. i have a puppy pen i can set up but the babies can squeeze through the gaps :... so i cant use that just now ... grrrr
 
Work days, I get home about 6 and put the piggies out in their run - not sure if that really counts as handling them as I just lift them from their cage and plonk them in the run. They stay out until about 9.30-10pm when I have each of them on my lap for 10 minutes or so before they go back in their cage for the night.

Weekends are much less structured but weekdays are short on time so I find it easier to have a routine.

Apart from this time of year when I'm working weekends too, then every day's the same!
