How thick does bedding have to be?
Also does anyone put extra bedding inside the piggies housee.g pigloo type thing?

What kind of bedding are you using? I never bother putting bedding in their hidey areas, the entire cage has a layer of newspaper and then half of it has a layer of hay then the hidey area is placed on top they sometimes drag some hay along with them but they feel secure enough in the hidey places as is without adding extra bedding.
If they are outdoors they need their sleeping are to be full enough with hay so they can bury themselves in it.

I guess if using something like Megazorb it depends on the size of the housing and how often they are cleaned out but an inch to inch to two inches should be enough. With newspaper underneath to make cleaning easier, just roll it up and chuck it.

thank you- I am using megazorb and it is an inch to two thick

have they an area they can bury in hay at the moment? maybe get a litter tray, i use one and layer it with newspaper and put lots of hay in it, and they like to bury in there.

these are good too as they poo and wee in there so just need to empty and clean every other day.

you can get them from local pet store or here

just search on google and you will get lots of options.

I put newspaper down to line the hutch/cage. Then a layer of megazorb topped off with loads of hay. Mine live in hutches in the shed and I a have a heater in there for winter. I get through tons of hay in the winter bed area is stacked with hay and they all snuggle under it:))
