Never been brave enough before and want to know what to expect
, would the kitchen be better than the bath and questions like that ,

a step by step would be brill :)

another tip which is great is put put them on a towel in the sink / bath it stops them panicking and trying to run off and slipping all over which makes them panick more!

Put them in a large ice cream container, it makes them feel a little bit more secure.
Remember to eat the ice cream first.

I have never seen an overweight guinea pig. I don't think THEY eat ice cream.!!

Serious matter, for a change, PP.
I was recently given 2 boars who were "rescued" from a pet-shop in Oakham. Unusual name, SAPS, or something similar. I am assuming that Oakham, Leics. is the same Oakham that is in Rutland.

Yes it is, I have never been in there actually. SAPS is Stamford Animal & Pet Supplies but isnt in Stamford! :{ Will pop down there tomorrow and see what the place is like ;)

Thanks. I have never been there. A friend of a friend has bought (rescued) a few pigs from there, they usually end up with me!

all my piggies except 1 turn into houdini acrobatic escape artist pigs when having a bath :o they can JUMP clean out of the kitchen sink and frequently do! I end up chasing them along the kitchen work top or they sneak and hide under the dish rack on the draining board. little bugg@s :))

if I still had a bath I would probably bath in the bath instead of the sink so as to avoid leaping pigs :))

How do you manage to fit in the sink?

Hi, out of interest and ready for when we get some, do you guys use a hand shower on low and gentle or just a jug and water? And does it matter? or would a shower startle to much? :) rolleyes

Pig in the sink with running water, from the tap, for washing and then a jug of water to rinse off the shampoo. Rabbit in the bath washed/rinsed with hand shower.

I bath my piggies in the bath using the hand shower, its much easier and ensures the shampoo is completey rinsed out.
I have had far too many piggies try to jump out of the sink :))

I have had them jump out of a bath, I didn't believe they could until I saw it happen!

Yes, I've had pigs jump out of the bath too. Only girls though for some reason..... boys have all been v well behaved so far!
