Hello everyone, just a quick post:
today we had our young boar - Casper - neutered in the hopes of eventually introducing a female once his six week post-neutering period has ended. I have never looked after a neutered male guinea pig before so I’m going to be continuously on edge for pretty much everything (he is my baby after all!)
So if there are any tips to keeping him comfortable and how to best take care of him e.g. stop him from biting the area, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I think looking after a recently neutered boar is fairly easy as long as he has recovered from surgery well. As long as he is eating, pooping and weeing as normal then all you need to do is regularly check the operation site for any sign of infection or complication (redness, heat, swelling, lumps). With a good vet these complications are greatly minimised. If you already have girls to put him with they can go in cages side by side for company and to start bonding through the bars.

I agree with the above, as long as you keep his cage as clean as possible and check his wound site regularly then it should heal pretty quickly.

I recently had Micah neutered and the advice you’ve already been given is the same advice I followed.
He mended well
He lived next to his future wives and so after his 6 weeks bonding went smoothly.
Be prepared for several days of a highly excited boar!
Hope Casper heals well
