How to check teeth?

What is the best way to get a good look at your guinea pigs teeth? My Teddy is awesome at allowing me to put him on his back but when I try to look in his mouth he struggles and bites my fingers. Whats the best way to get a good look at their teeth without losing my fingers to their sharp teeth?
 
It is the front or back teeth you are trying to check? Do you wrap him up so he can't fight you?

Some of mine are very, very stubborn and clamp their mouth closed when I try to examine their teeth. Those pigs are the hardest of all of mine, as when you eventually (gently) prise their jaws open they start trying to nip!
 
he doesn't struggle with his body at all but when I touch his mouth he tries to bite me. What is the easiest way to get their mouth open without getting bit is what I was more wondering.
