I've reasonly noticed, Mali doesn't really eat hay, his hay could sit in his hayrack for days and it'll never go down. He went to the vet 2 weeks ago due to having soft poop and was given probiotics which I gave him for a few days until better and whenever I see his poops soft and mashed into the bedding, I give him some more but tbh i think now he's just mushing them with his feet as the outside the bed ones are formed normal but he doesn't eat enough hay unless he's eating his bedding?

pow-pow

what hay do you use? Try one of the yummy herby/forage ones or mix in some dried bits with normal hay.

Very possible hes eating his bedding, do you not watch him. Mine are always eating hard to miss.

I noticed he took a chew of a piece of hay from his rack today but barely anything. Yes I thought about the herbal hay stuff I used to give to Africa because it's all he would eat when he was unwell (he popcorned for the stuff). The bedding doesn't seem to go down a great deal, just trodden down. The vet thought dirty hay was his 'poop problem' cause but it's changed daily lol

Can't get my girls to stop eating it, they are mad on hay. All I can suggest is getting some nice smelling Alfalfa hay or something similar to get him interested in it.

Magic animal supplies do sample packs of hay you could try and see what wants he likes.

Mine will eat their bedding hay but Burgess Forage dried grass goes down a storm in this house. They get a handful each morning and it doesn't last 5 minutes
