I have 2 sons and they both are wanting GUinea Pigs but they are in there own rooms. I can get 2 piggies and 2 cages. I see how it is good to have 2 piggies so how can we keep them happy and the boys also? The boys want them in there own rooms. Thanks

why not one cage inddors and out and keep them indoors in the winter and out sde in summer and they can each have their own with the guineas happy too?
and the boys can take turns cleaning etc

I think the guineas should live together. I would explain to your sons if they want one each that's fine but in the same way your sons have to live in the same house, your guineas have to live in the same cage!

i agree you should keep the piggies in the same cage, they do require company! maybe you could put the cage somewhere downstairs i.e living room? then you can check on them etc :)

Yeah I think 2 in 1 cage is best they love company. And being together as a family is lovely for them. Your boys won't always be upstairs to watch them. :)

The only right thing to do for the piggies is keep them together,it will eaven learn your sons to share responsability ::)
if they must have them in their own rooms the only other solution is 4 piggies ::) 2 in each room :-\

Absolutely agree with the above. It would be the first step to your sons' accepting responsibility to recognise that the needs of their pets must go first or no pets. :) Howabout if neither of them have the cage and its put downstairs, would that work?

Thank you for all the advice. I dont have a up or downstairs. My house is fairly small but maybe we can work out a trade, rooms for a week plan. Have the piggies in one room and that be the one who cares for the piggy that week and then switch the next? Although I know they would both want to play with them all the time. After they have shown they can do it with out having to be told all the time I may think about 2 more for the other one. Thanks again
