New Born Pup
Just had the boys out for a little while and for the first time Jerry was grooming my hand, little nibbles and licks
. Anyone else get groomed by their guineas?

When we first got them Jerry gently nibbled my finger, which I think was more out of fear and as a warning. But today it was definitely a grooming session. How lovelyMy RB Jess (right on my avatar) was a huge groomer of humans and pigs! She’d lick my face, up my nose and in eyes sometimes! And she’d groom her husbands like it was going out of style!

My Luigi has always been a nibbler, he’s getting worse now he’s losing his sight too but I’ve never had a bite! (Unlike Cleo my shark-pig!)
It’s so nice when they accept you like that, makes you feel very special! When we first got them Jerry gently nibbled my finger, which I think was more out of fear and as a warning. But today it was definitely a grooming session.

They've both come so far, when we got them they literally froze in fear, in fact mum thought Jerry had died! But gradually they realised that we're the bringer of foodIt’s so nice when they accept you like that, makes you feel very special!![]()
But instead it's much lovelier than that. I can relate! We started out with piggies for my teenage daughter, but I loved them so much that within six months I had 2 of my own. We are now at 5 piggies total!I knew rats groomed their humans, had a few several years ago that groomed me, but didn't think guinea pigs would. Am rather touched that Jerry trusts me enough for him to do that. Although we got them for nephew who lives with us, I'm the one that gets them out of the cage and handles them most. Mum drew the short straw and is on cage cleaning duty.
