Has any one else have a problem with hutch doors?
whenever i have a hutch summit is always wrong with one of the doors.
my old hutch was springy.
in the summer, when it was only coco and biscuit, they were sleeping in their beding area, when i popped in to visit them in the morning. the cats were staring at them, if they were in run, they be on the grass watching them. and if they were in the hutch, they'd be eyeing them up on the patito. the guineas had grew used to it. biscuit stayed in bed, while coco, ran downstairs for feeding. I closed the bedding door, which was stiff and hard 2 close. i fed coco and shoed the cats. my dad was chopping them carrots. i went upstairs on my pc for about 30 minutues, then went bak 2 see them with their carrots. the cats were back, sunbathing by the hutch. but the bedding room door was open! i panicked, i looked inside and their was biscuit happily sleeping. i was amazed. why hadn't the cats went for them? i got my dad to fix the door after that! i actually thanked god for keeping my piggies safe.

the new hutch locks are stiff
the new hutch i got has stiff locks, but the doors are pretty stiff so it hold it together most the time. i left the piggies. i came in last night to the garage to put down the cover, when the hutch door was open. i panicked! i checked to see if everyone was in their. fluffly and fudge were under the log cabin, biscuit and the babies were in the sleepsack. oh no! i thought, were is patch? their was woodshavings all over the floor obviously, when patch went to get a drink knocked open the door and kept trying to reach for it and fell out. i gave me a bit of relief to know she was still in the garage. i looked all around, and couldnt find her. i called my dad. i look under their hutch. i was nearly crying. "wheres patch?" i called her. i looked under georgy's hutch and found nothing. i ran into the house, calling my dad.
went out agen and lay on the floor and pushed my hands under the females hutch, and found nothing. then i dug my hand under georgy's. i felt woodshavings, plastic and something furry. i looked under, patch was snuggled up in the left over woodshaving and hay that had been brushed under the hutch a long time back. i caught her and checked her over and gave her a cuddle. then put her back in. she was very happy to be back in her hutch! i was so relieved she'd made such a lucky escape. has you can imagen, theirs paint and tools in the garaage, and without the protection of the hutch, she could of easily got herself in alot of trouble. i now only use the roof that lifts on the hutch because only my dad knows how to close the hutch doors.
