Little Huxley sounds chesty again. We have noticed that he hasn't seemed as lively recently - we though it was due to Scruffy being next to him so we moved Scruff, but I have just checked on Hux again and he seems to be making chesty noises, also his ear is scabby again.
I have given him some baytril - know I shouldn't treat him without being seen by a vet but the vets are closed tomorrow and I can't leave him to deteriorate.
i will take him on Saturday with Roly.

Just wish they were all well, feels like its never ending at the moment.

Oh no, poor Huxley. Give him a cuddle from us.

awwwwww Hux we're sending you heaps of loving wheeks and healing ones too :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))) for you Katie, gosh i do hope things go well at the vets on saturday for you O0

How is he? Poor Huxley (((HUGS AND PIGGIE KISSES))) :-* :-* :-* :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Thanks all, he seemed a bit wobbly this morning he's had some more baytril, and this afternoon he seemed a lot better, eating lots and toddling around. He seems to have got podgy too!
Will take him to the vets tomorrow.

Glad to hear he's feeling better. Give him wheeky cuddles from us and the boys :)

awwww glad he's feeling better today :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: hope you get on well at the vets, thinking of you :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :-* :-*

Thinking of you and Huxley :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Thanks all! Huxley's chest sounded clear, according to the vet, just his nose is snotty. He also has a very slight head tilt - the vet said she thought it could be due to a parasite and she would check if they could use the worming drugs on piggies.. am not sure about this, surely head tilt is caused by inner ear infection?
Anyway he seems OK, is on baytril and is a tad grumpy!

Hi Katie,

Head tilt is mostly caused by ear infection or so I read. Never heard of it being caused by a parisate. Could be wrong though.

Glad Huxley is a bit better! :smitten:

Thats what i thought Louise.. he had a shot of steroids at the vets (boy did he shout!) and his on the baytril.. he is going back with Roly on Tuesday.

Gosh they are such a worry aren;t they?

He doesn't seem so wheezy today, but still has a small crust on the outside edge of his ear. He also has a slight head tilt (tilting towards his good ear). I noticed a few bits of dandruff in his coat too. Otherwise he is munching for Wales (he's eating loads! :o ) and pottering about. He's back to the vets tomorrow with Roly.

GO HUX :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
What a little champion hope all goes well at the vets Katie, let us know O0

Thanks Glynis! It went Ok at the vets - she said to put him on the floor so she could see how he navigated the room with his head tilt, if he could move in a straight line, if he was tending to go round in circles etc - he loved it! He toddled round for ages, stopped to be stroked, pottered round sniffing and exploring, the vet was smitten! Esp when he came to me and let me pick him up! He really is laid back. Anyway he is still on baytril for his snuffles and he also had a jab on anti-inflammatory (boy did he squeak in outrage!). He is eating like a monster - never seen anything like it, OH is actually getting a bit worried in case he is scoffing too much.. we just have to keep an eye on him and to bring him back in a few days. His ear scab seems to be improving.
He is the only piggy I know that will actually go to sleep in the waiting room and try to make friends with the vet! I don't know if he's daft or just very tame!

The little man seems to be on the mend - he is less snuffly, still has a slight head tilt but is back to running round his cage again! He has discovered he hates baytril and has been fighting with the syringe like the naughty Ralfie! The strangest thing is the amount he is eating - its loads! He was nodding off in his food bowl again this evening! I hope his head tilt goes for his sake really because he seems a bit wobbly.
He was making friends with the vet again on Monday and charming the receptionists, he has also started playing with his footie again so he must be getting better!

That's great Katie :) Hope his head tilt improves soon. Ours hate Baytril too, we have to bribe them with a bit of sugar free blackcurrant with it ::)
Give him a cuddle from us :smitten:

awwwwwwwwww HUXLEY :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
Katie this is great, you're doing wonderful with him, and of course Huxley you're being the model patient O0 ::) ;D ;D ;D
Dam it love have you ever tasted baytril it's awful xx0 :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: it's bloody bitter as all heck.... :P :P :P :P :P and that's even with flavouring.
As long as he's eating so well i'd be real pleased surely this should all help him and of course time will heal as well O0 :smitten:
LOL isn't he a little flirt with the girls at the vets >:D :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: he's such a boy :smitten:

COME ON HUXLEY :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
btw love we have our baytril flavoured by the vets with watermelon and grape flavouring eeeeeeek it's real sweet but it sort of slightly covers the horrible bitter taste of the baytril :P

well done Huxley maybe he is trying to get as big as Jeremy ;D ;D ;D
