I love those little piggies to pieces x) Everyday they draw me more and more into their web and I have to admit I've got it bad! Finally they seem settled and confident and have gone from shy timid little things, running off to hide to wheeking everytime they see me! It's so rewarding to see visible changes in their behaviour. They are more adventurous at floor time and when lift up the top of the hutch to check on them I can now stroke them and they don't run away. Most days I find I can pick them up without using their pigloo to catch them and bring them in. This morning Saffy wheeked when she saw me and as I'd left the back door open, she heard me open the fridge and started wheeking again. It is such an adorable sound and at last they are relaxed enough to do it. They used to be quiet and I longed to hear them, now my patience has been rewarded! Ginny will sometimes do piggy lips which is cute beyond words. Girls, I love you and am so glad I brought you home xoxo Think I've found another animal I can't live without, cats and guinea pigs :(|)

I *so* know how you feel :) My girls have gone from being so shy and timid (especially the new girl) - to strutting their stuff round their cage :D

I get wheeks as soon as my alarm goes off in the morning and 3 eager faces at the side of the cage that faces the kitchen (they know my first task when I get up is their spot clean and their brekkie!)

I also get 'welcome home' wheeks when I get in from work - and then it's play time. They tend to spend the first hour I get home just running around, popcorning, chasing each other. I love it. So SO lovely to come home to :D

Totally addicted! :D

I can a billion percent relate! :)

I've been a guinea addict for about 10 years & actually couldn't live without them!

Such gorgeous little piggies! xoxo

I can say with complete confidence I am now a total addict ! I'm a slave to the wheek :(|)

I compleatly understand, I have owned guinea pigs for 6 years and couldn't be without them in my life ^)

Ahhh bless them both. I just brought them into the lounge for some floor time and despite putting their pigloo in for them to go into and be carried in, they just sat there and let me pick them up to bring in. OK Saffy did nip when I went to put her on the floor but that was cos her back leg was caught in the neck of my blouse, can't blame her for that. They have got so good to handle :)

Aww, I think all of us here would agree! Guinea pigs ARE going to be a part of my life for the rest of my life - I love them so much. I currently have 19 (and could quite happily have quite a few more!)

When you notice changes in your piggy's behaviour in terms of them getting more comfortable with you it is always a massive thing. I've got quite a few rescue piggies here who are at varying levels of timidity and every time I get a development in one of them it just makes my day.

Last night I had one such development. Flossie, one of the most nervous piggies I've ever had, came up to the bars of her hutch and sat there to be fed spinach! Doesn't sound like much, but this is a piggy we very rarely see out of the bedroom and usually if there's a person too close to her hutch she'll stay in her bedding box. So to have her handfeeding (albeit through bars - she won't come up normally yet) is amazing for me. Her baby Panda is also learning that we're not all bad and come with treats too!

My piggies really are amazing. They really do light up my life and as long as I am able to give a home to piggies you bet I will do! :)
