Hi, I have recently swapped from hamsters to guinea pigs and I had new un used saw dust left over, I have had it in for a day now, will they be OK on saw dust, I have hay as well

Welcome to the forum

Wood Shavings are ok to use as bedding. You need to ensure the chunks are large though, as any dust can/will get into their airways and cause irritation.
My guess is that is much the same as with hamsters though.

Hi, it is sawdust, recommended for hamsters, I don't want to seem dramatic but I don't want them to die. Should I remove the saw dust ASAP? Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum and to the world of guinea pigs. Sawdust isn’t recommended as it will irritate their airways but large flake wood shavings are fine it depends what you have x

Should I maybe remove the dust, thanks

If it is dust ie very small pieces which could be breathed into the airways - then yes remove it.

If it is wood shavings ie larger chunks (wood shavings are, let’s say, around finger tip size) which are too big to be breathed in - then it is safe to use

The packaging should say what it is but if you can post you can post a picture then we can help further.
