I have two beautiful piggies by the name of Cinnamon and Mocha. They’re about five months old and both are females. None are neutered or spayed. How do I weigh them without a scale? And how much should they weigh?

You can score their heft or body condition by feel (should just be able to feel ribs but not too much, someone on here posted a really helpful picture guide about it) but really you need a cheap scale. My piggies weighed about 500g, 700g and 800g at about 5 months- the lightest one was just recently rescued and underweight, the largest isnt fat she's just chunky as I can still feel her ribs.

Hi

For weight conversions please use an online converter; just put in grams to pounds... and links will pop up! ;)
We have the same issue between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature measures.

Since we are a UK based forum, we are faced with the issue that many UK members will use the old imperial pound measure whereas the US members use the metric pound. The difference between the two can and has led to misleading advice as it is quite considerable at the range guinea pigs are at. That is the reason why we use the unambiguous grams on here. That is exactly the same wherever you are in world! :tu:

PS: you can check the 'heft' of a guinea pig by feeling around its ribs; this gives you a rough idea whether your guinea pig is the right weight for its size or not, but it cannot measure any gradual or very quick weight loss.
