so i just joined but i a lot of people use pellets for their pigges. but a lot of people don't use them and i don't know who to listen to!๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–

Itโ€™s entirely possible to be pellet free, so do what you are happy with.
Pellets are the least important part of the diet In any event. They should only have one tablespoon per pig per day.
Pellets are useful as they fill in any gaps in nutrition and ensure they get all the vitamins they need. But, they are also full of fillers and things which piggies donโ€™t necessary need.
the choice is yours! If your piggies are healthy and happy without them, then donโ€™t add them!

I agree with piggies&buns. As long as you are feeding quality hay and a variety of veggies you should be ok :)

Personally I use pellets just for peace of mind, however if your lot are doing fine without them then don't worry :)

Yes I think people can get hung up on pellets or no pellets, but like any food for any animal or person they can play a role in a healthy diet in moderation. If I have just been shopping and have lots of fresh varied veg to scatterfeed I often dont bother with pellets, but today all I have left in the fridge is cucumber and peppers so breakfast was 12 pellets each and a slice of cucumber, and they will get 12 pellets each and a slice of pepper tonight for dinner too!
But tomorrow once piggy daddy goes shopping they will get scatterfed bistro salad (3 different types of salad leaves plus grated beetroot in), a hay cookie each, then maybe babycorn and beansprouts for dinner, so I will skip the pellets :)
I usually leave out pellets too if they are having a high calcium veg meal, as even low calcium pellets contain 4x more calcium that high calcium veg! So if its a spinach, broccoli or parsley meal no pellets, but if its watery cucumber and lettuce meal they get a few pellets.
Unlimited hay is the most important thing of course :)
