I always thought that i spoilt my pigs until i came on here. My girls have indoor living area, outside hutch and then i let them out in a run on warm days. But when i see all the lovely things you have for your piggys i feel my girls are missing out.
I'm embarressed to admitt i haven't a clue about fleece in hutches or making them sleeping/ cosy bag type things.
I have found some fleece but have lots of questions. What do you all do with it? Is any fleece safe? Washing?
I thought I would start with fleece and carry on looking for ideas from you all to carry on spoiling them.

As long as your pigs are loved, warm, well fed and have access to medical treatment when they need it, then you have nothing to feel guilty about!

Joining this forum means that you can chat to lots of like minded piggy people! You can get ideas, share suggestions etc. and if you like the sound of something, you can try it!

Not everyone has their pigs on fleece. Not everyone has little fluffy beds. We're not here to tell you how to do things, we're here to share a passion and share ideas and stuff!

Welcome to the forum :)

Hi and welcome to the forum. If you wish to have fleece as bedding then you can get fleece from Primark,Ikea and supermarkets. You have to wash and dry it three times without fabric softner to make it water proof. I use a layer of towels and then two of fleece. I think it is nice and cosy for piggies.

There are many sites and people on here who make cosy cups and beds.

Thank you. I suppose it's a little bit like having children, you don't like to think they are missing out.
I have a little girl in need of cheering up (her mummy died) so i thought a few creature comforts may help as I'm starting to get a little worried she's not happy. But thats a whole other story.

Fleece is not necessary to make your piggies happy. I happen to prefer it for cleaning purposes, but it's whatever works housing-wise for you and your piggies, I'm sure they'd be perfectly happy on newspaper and hay too!

A big pile of hay is probably my piggies' biggest delight :)

Oh I am so sorry your guinea pig passed away. That is so sad. If your little one is living alone you may like to find her a friend through a rescue to help her not be so lonely.

Don't feel guilty !
Piggies only wan't love ! everything else is extra.
Two of my pigs live on fleece but only as my piggie Chester has a dust and pollen alergy, my other piggie lives on sawdust.
It's great that you've joined the forum and found cool things, but don't feel like you have to do it ! They sound like they have a great life with you !

hello and welcome to the forum, i was like you, and quite puzzled by the fleece idea. i decided against fleece, but do have cosy cups, and cosy tunnels! but honestly you dont have to have these to have happy piggies, the right diet, and the odd paper bag for them to hide in will make them just as happy!

Don't worry! All I have is a couple of pigloos, some wooden chews and a hay bin, and my ladies are happy.(And food and water of course.) I don't even have a fleece bed.

I have tried mixing her with my older pigs but it ended badly, (I posted for advice a couple of weeks ago). Anyway she has slowly retreated into her own little world and has stopped talking to me. I have been looking for a rescue pig but struggle to find anywhere in my area, I think i am going to have to look else where now. But I thought a change of scene and a treat may help her, hence me looking on here for ideas.

I make fleecey beds :))

Guinea pigs do tend to love them, but they aren't a necessity, so please don't feel bad. You give you piggie all it needs to make it happy :) x

Oh poor baby. Why dont you ask for a piggy train were people can take her to a rescue for you to choose her a friend?

People would drive your piggy to a rescue for you. It is for people who live far from rescues.

Skelly, your fleece beds look brilliant. Mine will be a tad more basic. My needle work isn't up to much, buttons are my limit unless i have a cross stitch pattern.:{

A piggy train sounds worth looking into, thank you. Is there anywhere on here i can look to find out more?

It's a whole new guinea pig world on here isn't it? It's fab!

You can make a post asking the people of the piggy train to contact you I think. I hope they will be able to help you.

You choose a rescue and they will ask members of the piggy bank to help!
