I've just had the pigs out giving them a general check over and found Freya has a big wound on her shoulder :(. It's all infected and scabby. I don't know what to do with her, I've cleaned it with hibiscrub, but do I attempt to take the scab off and get the pus out or should I leave it until I can get her to a vets tomorrow?

I feel so bad 8.... I have no idea how long its been there, but it must have been a bite from one of the others. Poor little girl, it does look sore :(

Thank you, I just can't believe I hadn't noticed it before :(. I'll get an appointment with the vets ASAP tomorrow. I just hope she doesn't make it worse.

I know its horrible when you find out ... I cleaned up with cool salt water, then some germolene . Cleared up great and the hair is back now x)

I did the same. didnt bother with a vet (as bad as that sounds)

I don't think it sounds bad some things like this are just simple thing to do i would never say don't take to a vet but i always try this first with things like this

Yes Manuka honey is excellent for anything like this..it should heal in no time.

I took her in this morning and the vets took the scab off and it's a big wound. I have to clean it twice daily and give her 1ml of baytril a day. I'll take a pic later and put it up. Poor little girl. She was so good at the vets though, didn't flinch or squeal, I'm so proud :)
