I have been very naughtily watching the free ads etc for the 'freebie' pigs and I have managed to say no to myself a million times over the past few weeks from taking them and finding them new forever homes. BUT yesterday I noticed a piggy who has been looking for a home for a while in the begining he was being sold for 5 quid ::) but no takers and now he is going free :'( he is adorable little chap and a only piggy :'( I emailed the owner as they have now advertised him some where else, I just asked why they are rehoming and is the usual boredom story I havent told hubby as he would go mental WHAT SHALL I DO they replied with we hope to hear from you soon :-\ :-\

Aww! Do you have room for him? If so then I would go for it! I no longer look at free ads for that very reason! >:D

Hope you get him if you can!

Go and get him :smitten:, And use your womanly charms >:D >:D ;D ;D

sorry that wasn't very helpful was it, it just came out ;D

would hubby really throw a wobbly ?

I have the room only on a temporary basis :( my mum has recently become crazy about piggies too after I rescued 2, she has them now :) I was showing her the pics of him last night trying to persuade her ;D

just make sure your level headed about it, don't let your heart rule your head, this is why i don't look at the freeadds anymore,

can you pick him up and then your mum is bound to fall in love with him once she actually sees him :smitten:

You could just say that you would rescue him and take it from there but you do have to be practical , can you afford it, have you the space etc etc

If you have the space and funds, and Hubby really won't mind, then go for it. :)

Hunny
I know you really are the most caring piggy mum out there but you cannot save them all unfortunatly there is just too many. Only you know you how your Hubby will be. I do not look at the freeads because like you I would want to take them ALL in too.
In the end its up to you what to do if you do take him in. Sorry I have not been of much help so many on here are saying go get him, could you point the owners in the direction of a rescue nearby? Thats still helping the little guy :)
Take care Hun

yep Pumpkinp I know what you mean ;) and I usually email the people and say try guinea pig rehome and your local rescue I didnt actually say I wanted him anyway so I dont feel bad about that I just asked why they are rehoming as he looks like such a happy pig :( I hope because he looks happy they will really look for a good home, they havent had him for a year yet ::)

Sorry was thinking with heart not head,I know myself that I would love to rescue them all and in the past have taken in most that came my way (not piggies but budgies a rabbit a dog ;D ;D) sometimes you just have to say no,hard as it maybe,I do now as I wouldn't want my others not to have the lifestyle they have become accustomed too ;)

Awwww! Good luck and bless your heart 0:) Hope you get him and give him the loving home he deserves. I wish people had to take some kind of test or exam before they are allowed to own animals, so many are just got on a whim and then discarded. One of my bosses has two pigs that she now does everything for after they were brought home for her daughter and stepson who have now lost all interest! :tickedoff:

I'm in the South Hams, South Devon area. Any help? PM me.
