George and Lenny were our first ever guinea pigs that we owned and sadly just over a year ago due to different circumstances we had to part with them. On Saturday we saw an advertisement in the pet shop 'guinea pigs free to good home' and it was our Lenny and George so we spent a solid day by the phone ringing the advertiser and now thankfully they are back with us and will be till they pass on. It is a rare thing to get a second chance and I feel so lucky. Here are my two boys

Oh wow, how amazing, I bet you are thrilled to have them back with you :)

that is so amazing! it's brilliant when fate lends a helping hand and shows you that you were meant to be their family!

Amazing! Welcome to the forum! Pigs are gorgeous the black one looks like my Flora! I will let her know, she will be thrilled! :(|)

Congratulations! You were obviously meant to be their parent!

Beautiful boys, might be doing some pignapping soon! :P xx>>>

That's a wonderful story and I'm really glad you found your piggies again so unexpectedly! One big happy family now!

That is brilliant news! Congratulations to have them back with you.
You must have been slightly annoyed though to know that the other family had put them up for someone else?

Amy x

Yes, it was lucky I went into the shop at that time otherwise who knows where my boys would have ended up, it was nothing else but fate and I am very happy right now. The boys haven't changed one bit George still beats up his water bottle lmao and Lenny still loves to be cuddled haven't changed a bit thankfully :)

that is a really lovely story. it is obviously fate that you found them again at a time when you were able to take them in again. You definately have something working on your side and you are definately the right parents for them! x

This is a real "happy ending" story and I'm so pleased for you. But you will hopefully be able to answer a question that I've often wondered - what piggie memories are like. Did they recognise you, do you think? I know dogs never forget a person, but I'm unsure about cats, and have no idea if guinea pigs' memories go back like that.

By the way, they are gorgeous boys.

They seem to remember us, they react the same as they used to and were very comfortable with us almost immediately. They are both very animated characters and it is as if they had never left the way they behave, so I do believe they have remembered us.

awwwwww bless this is just the loveliest 'good luck' story, twas just meant to be x)x)x)x)

it's so lovely when things like that happen, how lucky you were to spot them!
they're a beautiful pair <3

What a wonderful story!

I wish you all a happy time together! I'm not surprised that they still remember you - guinea pigs have a far better memory than most people think, but it's so good to have that bond and to know that they love being back with you as well!
