Yesturday (25th) I went to a zoo type farm thing...I'm not sure if its right to name the place on here?
But anyway i was extatic as i knew they had small animals there, most importantly piggies!
I was shocked to find lone pigs living with a lone rabbit and if thats not bad enough they were sharing the same food!
There were also pigs living along side tortoise's but they were able to go out side etc and not forced in an enclosure.
I am of course going to complain. They even contradict themselves on their website in their FAQS section saying:
"Q. What types of food do the animals eat?
A. Different species of animals have different diets here is a list of the types of food our animals eat: fruit, vegetables, small mammals, chicks, eggs, dog biscuits, pellet food, yogurt, fish, meal worms and other insects, bread, tinned dog and cat food, hay, corn and maize and grass.
"
They also say the welfare of their animals is paramount but why, if they are an animal orientated business, are they getting it wrong!? The rspa dont reccomend it, P@H dont do it so why?
I almost cried for the little things as there was only one pair of pigs and the rest were on their own in a pen with a rabbit!
Also I really dont think I'm the kind of person who enjoys looking a beautiful animals such as shetland ponys stuck in a pen inside.
grrrr
