I have to say, I'm rather impressed with my handywork ... I "borrowed" my father's Stanley knife, sliced down and across the bottom edge of the correx to make an openable door section, took all four connectors off the grid, then used sandwich bag ties to make a hinge. A two minute job! 
I might do one for Ollie's side at some point, though I'm not sure how viable that would be since he hates coming out. I must remember not to have both doors open at once, since they're seperated.
PS: Elliot is thrilled, he is running in and out at great speed as if to prove a point.
