Because I've already learnt so much in the short time since I decided to come here regularly O0

Today I've learnt that a piggies nails can give some indication of their age, you can worm guinea pigs with Ivomectin and Panacur, to weigh piggies weekly.

And you were all so kind when I posted in a panic that Razzle was very ill.

So thank you everyone :smitten:

Interesting article Karen. Do you recommend worming guineas once a month even if they dont graze outside? I prefer the sound of the one Chrissie uses ::)

Yes because they have fresh food and hay etc . I do mine with the herbal one, its up to the individual, I just feel that you never know what you leave behind on the food and I've seen it make such a difference to some pigs.
I think you have to make your own mind up about it, I wouldn't fall out with anyone over it :)

If you decided not to then I would say just bear it in mind if they have some significant weightloss as thats when its often overlooked. Obviously theres lots of things it could be but its a good one to rule out :)

Ok, I will get some of that then :) So even if there are no symptoms such as weightloss/diahorrea, it is possible they could still have worms? The herbal one sounds a lot better to me than pancur which my older ones have had once :)

I'm still not sure about worming tbh, i think i need to do some reading and try and make a decision :-\

My pigs have just had ivermectin for mites. Does that do worming too? I dont worm mine regularly, but I think I will start. Thanx guys.

i have ordered some..my friend has a baby pig and wants to know what age to start worming?

Does anyone know if this herbal wormer is ok for use in rabbits?

You need to contact Holistic supplies for info on rabbits I think and I personally wouldn't use it on a baby guinea.
