No, neither of them can fit through the holes. The bottom has plastic, so they're not walking on wire. It only cost $70 and they have plenty of space.

What are the measurements? Guinea pigs should have a 120cm by 60cm cage or 7.5 square feed. [Bare mininum for two pigs] I just want to make sure the sizing's all well!

The bottom is 4 square feet, the second level is 2 square feet. I'm adding a third level in a few days to make 8 sq. feet. The second pig is very small.

That's a great idea! I considered doing that, too, but ultimately I preferred building my own enclosure out of wire shelving pieces so I had the option to expand or dismantle it for moving someday.

I think going with the dog kennel idea would have been better. The thing I ended up with is lovely to look at and solid enough to keep dogs out (not that we have dogs...), but MAN is it heavy!
