I'm intrested in getting elvis this boar from a rescue.I'm wondering if i should get him and if i neauture elvis will it make a differeince to his behave towards a new piggie?http://www.roar.org.au/animals_online/yagoona_other.htm

I know that neutering a boar does not make any difference in their behaviour, unlike cats and dogs. There is no need to put Elvis through that op to bond him with a boar

oo ok but what about getting him a lady i dont want to breed so will that be ok if I'm neaturing him for a lady

It would but I would take him to a rescue first to pick a boar for himself.

I agree, try bonding him with another boar first I hope you have more luck with your rescues than I did with the ones near me so far, they dont want to know about me bringing Timmy to meet any of their boars

I'm the same LJ, I contacted 2 in my area and no joy. So I'll stick to what I know. I'm hoping to get one from Graham soon. Just got to get hubby to agree. He thinks Cuzzy should be a lone pig because he fought with Sunshine but I would at least like to try him with another and we can decide from there. Plus a trip to the Lake District would be nice too so we'd kill two bird with one stone!

That sounds great he could have more than one lady friend

i would probably try and take him to a rescue to choose a boar first as that is the easiest if they get on. no need to neuter unless he's with a lady. it doesn't calm them down at alll as i'm realising with bertie! 98)
