I'm so sorry! You fought for him like mad! I know it's hard, and I know it may be little consolation, but when any creature nears the end, they say that there are endorphins (chemicals) released that actually ease pain and can produce a sense of euphoria. I often think it is much harder for us to watch than it is for them to go through. It is heartbreaking, nonetheless, I know. And any good owner worries about suffering, pain, etc. You gave him a real fighting chance though. Please keep that in mind and in your heart. Take care!
 
I am so sorry that Beans didn't make it! You did not fail him; you did all you could and battled so hard to save him - sadly, non of us is superman and non of us can save the world, or even all ill piggies. All we can do is try!

If it is any consolation to you, we all end up feeling like there should have been more we could have done when we lose a piggy ourselves. It is a measure of you being a loving, responsible pet owner - and it is the price we pay for letting piggies into our hearts and make our lives so much richer!

RIP Beans - you were a very much loved piggy!
 
Aw sweetie I am so sorry to hear that beans didnt pull through. But you did not fail him, you have done so much to try and help him so please remember that.

Sorry to read Beans didn't make it. You did your best and did everything you could for him. It's not your fault in any way. Sometimes it's just their time. So very sorry.

I am so sorry you lost him, please don't blame yourself, they are beautiful but quite fragile creatures & you did everything you possibly could. Take comfort that he had such a good life with you & was very loved. Rest in Peace little Beans x
 
So sorry to hear about little Beans, but you really did everything you possibly could have. He will be running free at the bridge now having a lovely time,big hugs x
 
Thanks all for your kind words.

I am having a hard time coping today. I have recently moved here, dont have much in the way of a social life, and the pigs were my ray of sunshine at the end of the day. Now i dont have Beans, and the other two are sitting apart and looking confused. BlackPig sat next to Beans house most of last night, so i think they understand, but they seem so lost looking now - BlackPig isnt an active Pig and i think BrownPig will struggle without his partner in crime to play with all the time.

I am also struggling to come up with an idea of where to bury him - always before we have had a big garden and now i only have a small patio. I live on the outskirts of a city so i dont have many nice places that arent busy, and i have no-one to help me or even be there with me.

Have you thought about burying Beans in a piggy pot? We bury any pigs that pass away in the rescue in a big terracotta flower pot with a nice plant. This would be ok on your patio and you can take it with you if you move. Another option is to have Beans cremated and you should be able to arrange this through your vet (or they will refer you to a suitable service), and his ashes will be returned to you in a wooden box.

Sending you some big hugs. It's hard to make decisions on your own, especially when you're hurting. x
 
Some places offer a scatter tube too although I've never had those, but you can then scatter the ashes, or if you go for a box you can ask them to either leave it sealed or ask for an opening box and then you can scatter the ashes should you choose to. Thats what I do then I put a few reminders in the box, like a special item of theres and a photo.rip Beans x
 
I think the piggy pot Flips suggested is a fabulous idea. I'm sorry for your loss, it is hard when they leave. x

oh how sad, i am so sorry about beans, i have just read through all your thread. You did a great job at trying to save him, sadly it was just his time.

Good luck with sorting him out now, i feel so sorry for you being alone but we are all there with you love, and we all understand how you are feeling it is such a devastating time.

sometimes no matter how hard we try... they still leave us... all be it too soon...

I'm so sorry to hear this, I'm sure you did everything you could for him :( it's so difficult when you've spent so long & so much effort syringe-feeding them too. You did everything you could. xx
 
I am so sorry to hear about your poorly piggy, if hes on antibiotics it would be a good idea to give him so probiotic too, your vet can prescribe it and I think you can buy it from a good pet store. I agree though, keep him warm and watered. Sending good piggy vibes............. keep us updated
 
I'm so sorry for your loss. You didn't fail Beans- you did all that you could for him. Their little bodies have to do the rest, and unfortunately sometimes that doesn't happen. ((HUGS)), and RIP Beans.
