My guinea pig just lost her cage mate and she stopped eating and never moves outside her igloo. What should I do?

Hi and welcome!

I am very sorry for your loss. What your bereaved piggy is suffering from is called acute pining. The best thing you can to right now is looking for a new companion asap, even if it is just next door. In your extreme case, all considerations re. where to get a piggy from and quarantine go out the window, as the presence of company is paramount. However, if you can get an already quarantined piggy from a rescue quickly, that would be best. How old is your bereaved girl? With a sow, you can look at both neutered boars or other sows. Age is much less relevant than mutual liking.
Could you please add your country, state or (for the UK) your county, so we could give you recommendations? You can do so by clicking on the top bar, then go to personal details and scroll down to location.
We have got a recommended good standard rescue locator for our UK members. We may be able to provide rescue contacts for other countries, too: https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/pages/guinea-pig-vet-locator/

Here are tips on what you can do for a bereaved piggy: https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/looking-after-a-bereaved-piggy.110463/

Most guinea pigs are withdrawn for 3-4 days, but they will still come out to eat at some point or other. if that is not the case, please hand feed her with mushed up pellets and water until you can get piggy company, so the guts are kept going. Weigh her daily at the same time to check how much you need to top her up. I would also recommend to add some extra vitamin C to boost the stress lowered immune system; about 1/8 - 1/4 of a nomral human vitamin C tablet in an emergency. A pining piggy should perk up instantly in the company of other piggies. https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/complete-hand-feeding-guide.115359/

PS: You are welcome to post a tribute to your other piggy any time that feels right for you in our Rainbow Bridge section.
