Junior Guinea Pig
Sorry for the post but i am sitting here with my little GP Boy and i think it is his time to go to the bridge.
I found this forum several years ago when i first starting looking at getting some GP's and it is where I found Whizzer and Rusty and i adopted them from Walsall RSPCA Whizzer had brain damage and had such funny ways about him but he was always such a loving boy, we lost his brother last Xmas and I went on to adopt 2 girlfriends for him in April from Rugby GP Welfare, they instantly form a special bond with him.
Unfortuntaly the last few weeks had been tough as Whizzer developed a big absess and had to have surgery to have his teeth filed back and the absess drained, on top of that he developed a case of mites, but up until tonight his progress has been really good the abesse had all but disapeared and his fur was growing back and his weight was getting so much better he was still on his antibiotics but was looking good.
Tonight i have come up to bed and he was tucked up in the corner of his cage and when i picked him up his chin mouth and nose area were really wet and he was freezing cold( he lives indoors) and is completely lisless, I have him wrappped up next to me in his special blanket but he still feels very cold and sounds very snotty his gums are very pale.
I can only asume that he will not be with me in the morning the worst thing is I lost one of my other GP's on monday after a long illness I just feel rotten8...
