Floppsy is having seizures, when she licks me there is blood and she has head tilt and can't sit up.

I'm sad and not sure what to do for her
I'm sat with her now keeping her comfortable,
Mums coming at half past to help if she can

Just need some support :(

Glad you have your mum to come and help. Sounds like you are doing a good job of keeping her comfortable. Fingers crossed for you and Floppsy. May be worth posting on the Rabbits United forum - lots of rabbit savvy helpful people over there Rabbits United Forum

Hi guys
We went to the vet
They think it's either a deep inner ear infection
Or a parasite
So they taken bloods to test and sent her home with Metacam
They don't think she's had a stroke so hopefully she'll be on the mend now
Because she usually lives with other rabbits we've seperated her for now till she gets well so she's in a small indoor cage where she can stretch out and move about a bit without hurting herself if she has another seizure
She's lapped up the metacam but isn't interested in any actual food so far,
I'll give her about an hour then try to get her to have something else

I'm really hoping she pulls through this

I have had rabbits with these problems.

I'm guessing the parasite the vet is concerned it might be is e-cuniculi.A 4-6 week course of Panacur or Lapizole (same thing -different manufacturer)is what she will probably be given if its found to be that.

If its an inner ear infection the vet will prescribe an antibiotic-probably Baytril to start with.(To be honest,a stronger antibiotic will be more effective but the vet has to try that first). An antibiotic like Septrin (oral) or daily Penicillin injections will be more effective in the long run.

Its good she has Metacam though for now as she will be more comfortable.

Does anyone know if you can mush up Rabbit dry food nuggets into a paste like you can for GP because she's not eating enough and I'm worried about her.

If so what's the best way to do it?

Yes you can.Try her with a bowl of mushed up pellets mixed with water. That will help keep her hydrated too.If you still don't think shes having any or enough you will need to syringe feed it to her.You would need to give her at least 150 mls in a 24 hour period but more would be better.Aim the syringe into the gap between her front and back teeth. If shes no better tomorrow morning, speak to your vet as stasis is a concern.

Really sorry to hear she's so poorly and I know she's not out the woods yet but it wasn't the worst possible news. Come on floppsy you've got this!
